Floral Topiary by SVGCUTS

Today I have a very different project for you.   I am an Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and I am also an owner of a Silhouette Cameo.  A Cameo, if you are unfamiliar, is an electronic die cutting machine that uses cut files and SVG files to cut paper, fabric, rhinestone patterns, vinyl, thin tin, and probably more that I don’t know.  I used my Cameo and a file called “Thank You for the Music” from SVGCUTS.com  This cut file includes the topiary, a baby grand piano box, a dimensional tag and several cards.  It is gorgeous and very versatile.  Here is my Topiary.

Floral Topiary

The papers I used are from Stampin’ Up!, the flowers are Cherry Cobbler and the urn is from the Fresh Market Designer Series Pack.  I love the way the urn looks like it’s wood.  The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon but it’s retired.   This lovely topiary has a place of prominence in my craft room/office.  It’s right next to a Stampin’ Up! project the Sweet Stack Project Kit.  I’ll share that project next week.

Here is a close up of the flowers….

While I was outside taking the pictures for this (natural lighting really is the best!) my dog and her “cousins” were outside playing.   Here’s a glimpse of them in another picture of the topiary.  Those silly doggies!

So after I saw them in the background of this picture I decided to take a picture of them… HoneyBelle has her collar on, Chief (the larger tan dog) and Zoey the dark dog don’t.  They are “naked” LOL

They are the happiest dogs!  But three dogs shed a lot!  Sweeping is done every other day.  😉

Now back to crafting… I have a close up of the urn for you.  Doesn’t it look like wood?   The inner portion is Cherry Cobbler and inside is some river rock and then a block of styrofoam.  Then I covered it with the Fresh Market Designer Series Paper.  Most of the supplies can be found on my website, except the styrofoam ball and block and the dowel for the stem.

I hope you like my project for you today.   If you don’t have a Cameo or another electronic cutting machine, you could still make something very similar by punching out flowers and layering them on a styrofoam ball (like I did) and putting it in a small clay pot.   But whatever you do… go create something sweet for somebody.

Vintage Leaves and Trust God

Oops!  I had a glitch and didn’t post for a few days, but I’m back!  Today I wanted to play with a new stamp set from the Annual Catalog, Vintages Leaves.  This set is so perfect for all your fall projects and lends itself to using gorgeous fall colors, like Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.

100_4050Mossy Meadow is one of our 2014-16 In-Colors and is expected to be discontinued next year, but you never know, Stampin’ Up! may decide to keep it around.  I’d be happy if they did.  🙂   I also added just a touch of Tangelo Twist, also an In-Color.  The background of the card is Always Artichoke, then a layer of Crumb Cake and another of Cajun Craze.   I stamped the leaves on a Very Vanilla piece that measures 4.5″ X 3″.   I stamped the sentiment from the Trust God stamp set on Very Vanilla in Cajun Craze.  Then to bring in the Always Artichoke back onto the front I punched out a piece of Always Artichoke with the Decorator Label Punch and cut it in half then I attached it to the back of the Very Vanilla piece.

A couple of pearls and an Old Olive Seam Binding Ribbon and the card is done.   When I was working on this I had a visitor…..

My Hubby, Rusty

I love this man!  He stopped by my office to see if I wanted to go to lunch with him.  Of course, I said yes!  We went to a great little restaurant not far from our home and had some great pizza.   Then I came home and finished this little post for you.  Here’s another picture of the whole card.

I hope you like my card for you today and it inspires you to go and create something sweet for someone.

Square Pillow Box Die

Happy Tuesday!  Today I’m sharing with you a new die from Stampin’ Up! in the Holiday Catalog.  I know I’ve been sharing a lot from a catalog you can’t even order from yet (sorry), but you will on September 1 and this is something you are going want! It’s the Square Pillow Box die.  Here’s my first one…

Square Pillow Box Thinlit Die
Square Pillow Box Thinlit Die

Isn’t this just the cutest thing?  I can just see it filled with goodies, or jewelry, or even a small gift for Christmas or any other gift giving occasion.  I believe that gifts should come in packaging just as nice and beautiful as the gift itself and I’m so happy that Stampin’ Up! has so many choices for us to make for us to make our own packaging using cardstock, or Designer Series Paper, maybe even Glimmer Paperl,   Oooh that would be gorgeous!  The other container dies that Stampin’ Up! has are Fry Box Bigz L Die, Berry Basket Bigz L, Hamburger Box Bigz XL, Cutie Pie Thinlits, Baker’s Box Thinklits, Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  The Square Pillow Box Thinlit die is very easy to use and comes with dies to cut windows into your box so the recipient can get a preview of what’s inside.  The ends don’t need to be glued shut so stuffing them is easy and you can easily reclose.

I added a belly band made out of 1″ of Designer Series Paper from the Sweet Li’L Things pack.  I really like this paper, it has a Very Vanilla background with little dots and circles in lots of different soft colors.  I added a bow made with the Bow Builder Punch out of Calypso Coral paper.  The Box is made with Calypso Coral too.

I put the belly band around the short side so the ends that open are able to be opened with the band in place.  What do you think?  What would you fill this cute box with?  I’d love to hear your ideas and thoughts, won’t you leave me a comment?

Here’s another look at the box I made with the Square Pillow Box Thinlit Die.

Home for Christmas

Christmas?! It’s only August!  I know, but the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is starting on September 1 and I need (Okay wanted) to share some delightful products you can get for your Christmas crafts.

Home for Christmas!
Home for Christmas!

The paper on the bottom is from the Designer Series Paper Pack, Home for Christmas.  The Santa Claus is hand cut out of another sheet from the same paper pack.  This paper has Santa in several different poses and just perfectly lends itself to being hand trimmed out.  I used the sprinkle stamp from Gorgeous Grunge on the top to mimic snow falling on a Whisper White background and of course a little “Ho Ho Ho” from the new stamp set Oh What Fun.  I added a little bit of Lost Lagoon ribbon and called it a day.  What do  you think?  Does it just make you long for cooler weather (or snow) and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas Season?

The Oh What Fun Stamp Set coordinates with the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit.  This kit makes 30 tags for your Christmas presents that are just darling.   Isn’t it nice when we can make our own wrapping, tags and boxes?  I love to give gifts that look as good on the outside as the gift is on the inside.  I believe it makes the recipient feel even more special and isn’t that why we give gifts?  Isn’t a gift a little box of love?

All of these supplies can be found on my website sweethoneystampingspot.net   Now go and create something sweet for somebody!

Gift Bag Punch Board – It’s a Box!

I used my Gift Bag Punch Board earlier this month and thought “hmm what else could I make?” and then it hit me…a box!  So I put my brain to work and realized it would be quite easy.  Here’s the final product….

I followed the directions for the Gift Bag Punch Board but I didn’t score the gussets.  I did score the sides and I chose the small size.  Then I flipped the paper around and punched on all the score mark without rescoring or scoring the gussets again.  That left a little bit more than I wanted on the edge (I used a piece of paper 6″ X 11.5″).  I trimmed the edge to 1/2″, and then I trimmed the flaps off.   Here’s a picture…

Then I reinforced the score lines and brought up the sides to 90°, if you make one, make sure you don’t go past the 90° mark or your box won’t be square.  I only put adhesive, our new Tear & Tape, on one side flap.  The Tear & Tape is so easy to use, no scissors needed and the plastic cover doesn’t stick to your fingers like our old Sticky Strip (which I loved but fought with every time).

Next you just tuck the sides in and the top down.  I used a belly band of Painted Petals and made a a ribbon on top with the same paper.   Now I’m challenging you to take a Gift Bag Punch Board and think of another use.  What can you make?

If you don’t have a Gift Bag Punch Board hop on over to my website and pick up one for yourself.  Now, go create something sweet for somebody!

Hello Life Project Kit – Cards!

Hey Everybody, as promised (I always try to keep my promises 😉 I have pictures of the cards I made with my Hello Life Project Kit.  There are quite a few, so I won’t go into too much explanation.

100_4006                   100_4008

This card could be sent to anyone for any occasion.   I love the heart stamp at the bottom.

100_4009                   100_4016

These two would be good for people you love that need to know it.  The “Spread the Love” sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set.

100_4014                     100_4015

The stamp is from Perfect Pennants.   Don’t you just love the sentiment?  Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.

100_4019                   100_4021

Well Hello!  I didn’t ink the bottom of the “Hello Life” stamp from the Hello Life Stamp Set, but I could have and just covered it with the yellow frame.

100_4022              100_4023

The stamp is also from Perfect Pennants.  Just a great stamp set to have in your library.

100_4026                   100_4025

This card looks so much better in person. The frame is Silver Foil paper and it just doesn’t photograph well.  Or maybe the photographer isn’t very good. LOL   The stamp is from the Trust God set.

100_4031             100_4028

Last one!  This is a shaker card with a strip of Silver Foil paper at the bottom.  I hand cut the heart in the middle out after stamping it with our new Black Archival ink pad (in the Holiday Catalog that you can order from on September 1).

What do you think?  Did I get my money’s worth with this kit?  I think so!  You can order yours today from my website and make cards, picture frames, and use the metal frame to display your creations.

Now you go and create something sweet for somebody!
