Hello You Thinlits
Hello You Thinlits

Today’s card was inspired (actually CASEd) from Pintrest.   It was created by Amy O’Neill and was Christmas themed.  I didn’t want to do a Christmas card today, but I probably will do this same layout closer to Christmas for another card.

I loved the simple layout with so much punch!  I cut strips of paper the same length 3 1/2 inches and then used my 1″ square punch to make the tag at the end.  As I went to line the four strips on my card base I used a ruler and placed it at 1″ from the top, then I laid the strips right at that edge.  After I put my ribbon on by placing a Glue Dot in the center and laying on one end of the ribbon, then wrapping it around the card base and bringing the other end to the Glue Dot.

After that my door bell rang and I had to let the pest control guy in and guide him through the house with all the dogs. LOL  But while I was doing that I was tying my bow.  I applied that with another Glue Dot over the original in the middle.

I cut the ‘Hello’ out of Whisper White with the Hello You Thinlits.  I just love these words.  I wish we had more of them!  I adhered that with my 2-way Glue pen.

The card base is Hello Honey and the strips were from the retired Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, but you could use any color background and strips of paper.  Make it spring like, birthday, anything!  And you can purchase supplies for this card at my online store HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today and go create something sweet for somebody!

This card is being entered into a Challenge Contest for CanYouCaseIt.com and it’s a color challenge!  That means that you can use any stamp set and layout you want, but you have to use the colors they chose.  Here are the colors….

My brown is Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake, the Green is Garden Green and the neutral is white.

The stamp sets I used were Flowering Flourishes,  Blessed by God and Papillon Potpourri.  I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch out the sentiment and the Small Butterfly punch to punch out the beautiful butterfly.

I hope you like this card.  You can see more of the challenge cards over at canyoucaseit.com

Everything I used today is from Stampin’ Up! and you can purchase these supplies from my online Stampin’ Store HERE.  I’ve listed all of the supplies at the end.

Butterfly Basics Birthday!

Butterfly Basics Birthday!
Butterfly Basics Birthday!

Today I’m sharing another CASE card.  I saw the one I CASED and thought, OMGosh! That is beautiful! I so want to make something similar.  The card I am CASing is from Kim Jolly with Stampin’ Artfully and HERE   is the link to her blog and you can see her creation there.  As you can see I changed the colors and the style just a little.  I used watercolor paper for the background and painted on a little bit of Blackberry Bliss with my Aquapainter.  Then I let it dry while I cut out the Silver Foil butterfly from the Butterfly Framelits.  Remember all stamps (except clearance) are on sale this week until Friday 15% off! So this is a great time to pick up this set!

After the background was dry I stamped the fern image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set with Basic Black twice, once without re-inking, which gave it a slightly lighter color.  Then I used Versamark with the same stamp and SU White Embossing Powder.  I added the silver butterfly and a small piece of Silver Satin ribbon.  I tied that with a piece of Black Baker’s Twine I had on hand, trying to keep the purple, silver, black and white theme going.  I used a sponge dauber and Blackberry Bliss to ink up the edge of the watercolor paper.  Then I punched three flowers with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack out of Silver Foil paper and added a Basic Rhinestone to them after curling them a bit.  I stamped the “postmark” image from the stamp set  in Basic Black, just like Kim did. My finishing touch was using Silver Dazzling Details just lightly all over the stamped images to give it sparkle.

Here you can see the Silver Dazzling Details. It’s really pretty in person.  This card could be for any occasion, but it’s going to be a birthday card, but it could be a thinking of you card, a sympathy card, really anything.  Here’s another look at the whole card.

I hope my creation today encouraged you to create something sweet for somebody.  Everything needed to create this card can be found on my online store HERE and I’ve listed the items at the end of this post.

Happy Guy Greetings Birthday! (And a SALE!)

Happy Guy Greetings Birthday!
Happy Guy Greetings Birthday!

Today I can  share with you the birthday card I made for my husband.  My hubby used to sell shoes (a long, long time ago) and when I saw the shoe image in the Guy Greetings stamp set I knew I’d use it on a card for him.  His birthday was Saturday, the day after we had a huge party for him, our son who is now 30!, and our adopted daughter…whose birthday is next Saturday.

This is the inside of the card.  I used the speckle pattern from Gorgeous Grunge, I think I probably used too much, LOL, but he loved it and that is all that matters.

I used a retired paper, sorry again, but I’ve got such a backlog of it that I’m not sure I can order more because I have no room!

On a strip of Whisper White I stamped the shoe image five times, four in Chocolate Chip and once in Pool Party.  Then I stamped it again on a scrap of Whisper White in pool party and trimmed it out.  Then I attached it to the card with Dimensionals and then I put two Mini Glue Dots on the front and attached two tiny, tiny Linen thread bows to look like shoelaces.

I hope that you enjoyed this card and the stamp set as much as I do.  This set, Guy Greetings, is so great for  all kinds of masculine cards.

The sentiments in this set cover so many reasons for cards, birthday, Father’s Day, Congratulations, and just because! I think this is a great set to have in your stamp library.  You can purchase this set at my online store HERE And today through October 23 (for five days only) all of our stamp sets are 15% off!  This doesn’t include bundles or clearance rack items.  What a deal!  Now, go and get shopping!

Now, why don’t you go and create something sweet for somebody!

Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees
Festival of Trees

The other day my friend and side line with Stampin’ Up! posted a picture of a card that she liked on FB.  I saw it and fell IN LOVE!   And immediately I said to myself “Cathy, you could make that into a great Christmas card” .  I slept on it and bubbled up into my little brain was this card.  Here is the card that she shared.

As you can see there isn’t a hint on the picture as to who made the card, which is sad because I’d love to thank them for this great lay out.

The stamp set I used as the main focus was Festival of Trees with the matching Tree Punch.   The other stamps are from Sheltering Tree and that old standby Gorgeous Grunge.  The colors are Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Garden Green and Tip Top Taupe.  The embellishments are sequins from our Gold Sequin Trim and a gold button that used to be on one of my mother’s coats.  LOL.  She had a cool coat years ago that had this fantastic gold buttons when she got rid of the coat she cut the buttons off and saved them.  I found them in her things when she passed away and kept them because I knew they were special to her.  The funny thing is that these are just plastic gold colored buttons.

So what do you think?  Is this a great layout for a card or what?  Let me know what you’d do different, or if you love it just as it is.  I hope I did it justice.  If you need supplies for your own Christmas cards, you can purchase them at my online store HERE.  Supplies for this particular card are listed below with links.

Happy Birthday (Again!)

Celebrate Today!
Celebrate Today!

I created this card for a very special young lady, I hope she likes it!  I used a retired set (Banner Blast) for the small banners.  I added a heart to each banner just because.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Celebrate Today stamp set.  This is a great stamp set and it’s just full of balloons, hot air balloons and everything to decorate them, banners, dots and kite tails.  A great set for birthdays for all ages.   The sentiments in it are for weddings, babies, graduations and birthdays so it’s very versatile.

I’ve included a picture of the stamp set so you can see all the goodies in this set.

Here’s a close up of one of the banners and the background paper which is from the retired Sweet Taffy DSP.   I apologize for showing you retired products, but in the past I’ve had the horrible problem of hoarding my paper.  I’ve realized the error of my ways and vow to use all of my current paper while it’s current.  I think continuing to create things for this blog will help me accomplish that goal.

I’d love to say that if you wanted to copy this card exactly all the supplies can be purchased on my online store, but obviously that is sadly not true.  But you could create a card with the same layout that would look a lot like this one and those supplies you could purchase on my online store HERE.

Hopefully I’ve inspired you to create something sweet for somebody today!

Giggle Greetings

Giggle Greetings
                          Giggle Greetings

Today’s post is all about AGE.  This week my oldest child turned 30!  Now, I’m not nearly old enough to have a child who is 30 years old, I must have had this child when I was just a tot.  😉  But age is just a number right?  LOL  But I had to rag on him a little with his card right?  This image from Giggle Greetings was just perfect for a 30 year old.

I stamped the image twice, once on Very Vanilla and once on Hello Honey.  I trimmed the block of cheese out of the Hello Honey and added it on top of the Very Vanilla image.  Then I used my Aquapainters to color in the candle, flame and add some accents to the plate.  Because my children both went to Florida State University they frequently get cards that are Garnet and Gold and this is no exception.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler (Garnet) and then there is a layer of Hello Honey (Gold). I added a piece of yellow stripes from a retired Designer Series Paper, Sweet Taffy, which is so perfect for celebrations! 100_4188There a tiny sliver of Crumb Cake just to tone all that yellow down.  Since this is going to a guy I kept the embellishments to a minimum by only using Basic Rhinestones.  It was hard, I really wanted to use some ribbon and a pretty bow but I held back.

All of the supplies used in today’s card are available at my online store HERE.  I’ve listed them at the bottom of the page.  I hope you enjoyed today’s card inspired you to create something sweet for somebody!
