Butterfly Basics Birthday!

Butterfly Basics Birthday!
Butterfly Basics Birthday!

Today I’m sharing another CASE card.  I saw the one I CASED and thought, OMGosh! That is beautiful! I so want to make something similar.  The card I am CASing is from Kim Jolly with Stampin’ Artfully and HERE   is the link to her blog and you can see her creation there.  As you can see I changed the colors and the style just a little.  I used watercolor paper for the background and painted on a little bit of Blackberry Bliss with my Aquapainter.  Then I let it dry while I cut out the Silver Foil butterfly from the Butterfly Framelits.  Remember all stamps (except clearance) are on sale this week until Friday 15% off! So this is a great time to pick up this set!

100_4202

After the background was dry I stamped the fern image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set with Basic Black twice, once without re-inking, which gave it a slightly lighter color.  Then I used Versamark with the same stamp and SU White Embossing Powder.  I added the silver butterfly and a small piece of Silver Satin ribbon.  I tied that with a piece of Black Baker’s Twine I had on hand, trying to keep the purple, silver, black and white theme going.  I used a sponge dauber and Blackberry Bliss to ink up the edge of the watercolor paper.  Then I punched three flowers with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack out of Silver Foil paper and added a Basic Rhinestone to them after curling them a bit.  I stamped the “postmark” image from the stamp set  in Basic Black, just like Kim did. My finishing touch was using Silver Dazzling Details just lightly all over the stamped images to give it sparkle.

100_4206

Here you can see the Silver Dazzling Details. It’s really pretty in person.  This card could be for any occasion, but it’s going to be a birthday card, but it could be a thinking of you card, a sympathy card, really anything.  Here’s another look at the whole card.

I hope my creation today encouraged you to create something sweet for somebody.  Everything needed to create this card can be found on my online store HERE and I’ve listed the items at the end of this post.

Happy Guy Greetings Birthday! (And a SALE!)

Happy Guy Greetings Birthday!
Happy Guy Greetings Birthday!

Today I can  share with you the birthday card I made for my husband.  My hubby used to sell shoes (a long, long time ago) and when I saw the shoe image in the Guy Greetings stamp set I knew I’d use it on a card for him.  His birthday was Saturday, the day after we had a huge party for him, our son who is now 30!, and our adopted daughter…whose birthday is next Saturday.

Inside
Inside

This is the inside of the card.  I used the speckle pattern from Gorgeous Grunge, I think I probably used too much, LOL, but he loved it and that is all that matters.

I used a retired paper, sorry again, but I’ve got such a backlog of it that I’m not sure I can order more because I have no room!

100_4197

On a strip of Whisper White I stamped the shoe image five times, four in Chocolate Chip and once in Pool Party.  Then I stamped it again on a scrap of Whisper White in pool party and trimmed it out.  Then I attached it to the card with Dimensionals and then I put two Mini Glue Dots on the front and attached two tiny, tiny Linen thread bows to look like shoelaces.

100_4199

I hope that you enjoyed this card and the stamp set as much as I do.  This set, Guy Greetings, is so great for  all kinds of masculine cards.

The sentiments in this set cover so many reasons for cards, birthday, Father’s Day, Congratulations, and just because! I think this is a great set to have in your stamp library.  You can purchase this set at my online store HERE And today through October 23 (for five days only) all of our stamp sets are 15% off!  This doesn’t include bundles or clearance rack items.  What a deal!  Now, go and get shopping!

Now, why don’t you go and create something sweet for somebody!

Happy Birthday (Again!)

Celebrate Today!
Celebrate Today!

I created this card for a very special young lady, I hope she likes it!  I used a retired set (Banner Blast) for the small banners.  I added a heart to each banner just because.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Celebrate Today stamp set.  This is a great stamp set and it’s just full of balloons, hot air balloons and everything to decorate them, banners, dots and kite tails.  A great set for birthdays for all ages.   The sentiments in it are for weddings, babies, graduations and birthdays so it’s very versatile.

I’ve included a picture of the stamp set so you can see all the goodies in this set.

100_4190

Here’s a close up of one of the banners and the background paper which is from the retired Sweet Taffy DSP.   I apologize for showing you retired products, but in the past I’ve had the horrible problem of hoarding my paper.  I’ve realized the error of my ways and vow to use all of my current paper while it’s current.  I think continuing to create things for this blog will help me accomplish that goal.

 100_4191

I’d love to say that if you wanted to copy this card exactly all the supplies can be purchased on my online store, but obviously that is sadly not true.  But you could create a card with the same layout that would look a lot like this one and those supplies you could purchase on my online store HERE.

Hopefully I’ve inspired you to create something sweet for somebody today!

Giggle Greetings

                          Giggle Greetings

Today’s post is all about AGE.  This week my oldest child turned 30!  Now, I’m not nearly old enough to have a child who is 30 years old, I must have had this child when I was just a tot.  😉  But age is just a number right?  LOL  But I had to rag on him a little with his card right?  This image from Giggle Greetings was just perfect for a 30 year old.

100_4187

I stamped the image twice, once on Very Vanilla and once on Hello Honey.  I trimmed the block of cheese out of the Hello Honey and added it on top of the Very Vanilla image.  Then I used my Aquapainters to color in the candle, flame and add some accents to the plate.  Because my children both went to Florida State University they frequently get cards that are Garnet and Gold and this is no exception.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler (Garnet) and then there is a layer of Hello Honey (Gold). I added a piece of yellow stripes from a retired Designer Series Paper, Sweet Taffy, which is so perfect for celebrations! 100_4188There a tiny sliver of Crumb Cake just to tone all that yellow down.  Since this is going to a guy I kept the embellishments to a minimum by only using Basic Rhinestones.  It was hard, I really wanted to use some ribbon and a pretty bow but I held back.

All of the supplies used in today’s card are available at my online store HERE.  I’ve listed them at the bottom of the page.  I hope you enjoyed today’s card inspired you to create something sweet for somebody!

Freshly Made Sketches #203

I’m excited to participate in my second challenge!  Freshly Made Sketches # 203 and I combined this with my third challenge Pals Paper Arts # 267.   Here is the sketch for the FMS challenge and the colors for the PPA.

And here is my interpretation.

FMS # 203
FMS # 203

For the background I used a selection from the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper, isn’t it pretty?  Then I used the “sun” stamp from Kinda Eclectic stamp set and made a cupcake from Sprinkles for Life using the colors in the PPA Challenge.

100_4106

I hope you like my interpretation of these two challenges.  I used a little bit of Lost Lagoon ribbon to give balance.  The sun stamp and cupcake are on an oval in Whisper White I cut with the Oval Framelits.  I really like this card and hope you do too.  And I hope that it has inspired you to create something sweet for somebody!

Celebrate Today!

Hi Everybody!  I love making birthday cards, you know why?  Because that means a celebration!  I love celebrations!  This card could be given to anyone, but I was thinking of perhaps a 10 year old when I made it.

Celebrate Today!
Celebrate Today!

Aren’t the bright colors happy?  I love the balloons in this set and the decorations that you can put on them.  Oh, and there is a coordinating set of framelits that makes it so easy to cut them out and pop them up on your projects.   When I find a stamp set that I really like and it has framelits I always purchase them together, after all Stampin’ Up! discounts the Bundle by 15% so why purchase them separately?  The bottom layer of the card is Pacific Point, a color I find I don’t use very often.  I think I just personally am not attracted to blue hues.  I like this color but my thoughts usually go to rose hues.  Yesterday’s card also had colors that I don’t usually use.  Thanks for being patient with me in explaining that.

100_4080

I also used our Hearts & Stars Decorative mask to sponge on the stars in the background in Crushed Curry.  Then I stamped the solid balloon in the same color and then stamped the polka dots in Pacific Point on the Crushed Curry.  This turned the Pacific Point dots slightly greenish.  The second balloon on top was stamped in Pacific point and then I sponged the banner stamp with several different colors (Pacific Point, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie).  I added tails to the balloons in Crushed Curry and Pacific Point.  You can’t see it very well, but there is a small piece of Baker’s Twine in Crushed Curry attached.  The “Happy” is stamped in Pacific Point on Wild Wasabi.

Inside I stamped birthday twice, once in Crushed Curry and another in Pacific Point.  I like to repeat each color at least three times if possible on a project.  That brings balance to the card or layout.

100_4081

I hope today’s card inspired you to go and create something sweet for somebody!
