A Nice Cuppa

Hi Again! Today I’m sharing a card that I made using the A Nice Cuppa stamp set, the coordinating Cups & Kettle framelets, and my new absolute favorite set in the Occasions Catalog…. Timeless Textures.

I’m beginning to realize that I really like these grungy, mixed up backgrounds.  I used a small piece of DSP from the stack It’s My Party and a smaller piece of Mint Macaroon.  The spoon, isn’t it just so cute, is made with Silver Foil paper.  I cut the spoon, fork and knife at the same time, even though I knew I wouldn’t use the fork and knife.  I will find a project to use them on soon and I’ll share it with you when I do.  What do you think of the grungy, shabby chic backgrounds?

This card is going to a friend who is a real tea drinker…she has rules for tea, how hot the water is, how long to steep the tea leaves, etc.  Personally, I’m like give me hot water, a tea bag and some lemon, I’m good.  LOL But I knew she’d love this card (and she did!).  Her tea cup is stamped in Watermelon Wonder and then cut with the matching framelets.  The seam binding ribbon is Calypso Coral but it’s so close… I just went with it.

Well I hope you enjoyed today’s card and come back again to check out my other creations.  Remember, all supplies can be purchased on my online store sweethoneystampinspot

Well go now and stamp something cute today!

Fear Not!

Botanical Blooms and Rose Wonder
Botanical Blooms and Rose Wonder

Hi again!  Today I have for you a card that was inspired by several different ones and I can’t tell you exactly which ones.  LOL  I used a combination of Botanical Blooms stamp set and framelet set and Rose Wonder stamp set.  Here in Isaiah 41:10 God is telling us that he will be with us and help us in our times of trouble, but He starts out “Fear Not” as if He were an angel.  Ever noticed that the first line out of all the angels in the Bible is usually “Fear Not”?  But when God is with us, what do we have to fear?  This quote from Isaiah is one of my absolute favorite stamps in the Occasions Catalog.

I used a sheet from Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper for the background and a small layer of Island Indigo. The Botanical Builders Framelets are great to use by themselves or with the stamp set.  I used them both ways on this card.  Every die cut received just a touch, if not more, of ink to give each of the flowers and leaves depth.  Here’s another shot of the card.

Hello!

Hello You Thinlits
Hello You Thinlits

Today’s card was inspired (actually CASEd) from Pintrest.   It was created by Amy O’Neill and was Christmas themed.  I didn’t want to do a Christmas card today, but I probably will do this same layout closer to Christmas for another card.

I loved the simple layout with so much punch!  I cut strips of paper the same length 3 1/2 inches and then used my 1″ square punch to make the tag at the end.  As I went to line the four strips on my card base I used a ruler and placed it at 1″ from the top, then I laid the strips right at that edge.  After I put my ribbon on by placing a Glue Dot in the center and laying on one end of the ribbon, then wrapping it around the card base and bringing the other end to the Glue Dot.

After that my door bell rang and I had to let the pest control guy in and guide him through the house with all the dogs. LOL  But while I was doing that I was tying my bow.  I applied that with another Glue Dot over the original in the middle.

I cut the ‘Hello’ out of Whisper White with the Hello You Thinlits.  I just love these words.  I wish we had more of them!  I adhered that with my 2-way Glue pen.

The card base is Hello Honey and the strips were from the retired Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, but you could use any color background and strips of paper.  Make it spring like, birthday, anything!  And you can purchase supplies for this card at my online store HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today and go create something sweet for somebody!

Perfect Pennants!

Perfect Pennants
Perfect Pennants

Have you ever sat down to make a card or scrapbook layout and just have zero, I mean ZERO inspiration?  That was me today and I needed a card for a friend who is marking the first anniversary of her husbands passing.  I lead a GriefShare group at my church and she is in this small group and I had to do something for her.   So, what did I do?  I found a picture of a card that I really liked.  This is called CASEing.  Unfortunately either I saw it in person, I really don’t remember, or someone posted the picture on the internet without a name because there was no clue in the picture as to whose idea it was.  Sorry, if this layout looks like one of yours, let me know and I’ll give you credit.  Thanks!

I used the same basic layout but I switched the side the stamped image is on and added flowers.  I also changed the colors and papers completely.

The original was done with the Maritime DSP from last year’s Annual Catalog.  Mine is done with the Perfect Pennants stamp set and Sweet Li’l Things DSP, I also used a touch of Calypso Coral for the background.  I embossed that with the Lucky Stars Embossing folder.  I just love all of the texture and polka dots but I’m not sure you can really see the embossing in the pictures.  Sorry, please be patient, I’m working on my photography.

Now go and create something sweet for somebody!
