PP288 Market Fresh

Well Hello!!!  I bet you thought you’d heard the last from me, right?  Oh No!  I’ve just been extremely busy and focused on other things and I hope to post more often now.

Today, I’m using the Market Fresh stamp set from the Annual Catalog for the card that was inspired by Paper Players 288 sketch.  What a great sketch, so easy to follow and a great way to use up scraps of your Designer Series Paper.  Speaking of DSP, I used the coordinating paper, Farmer’s Market for the front of this card.  The base is Very Vanilla (because that is the neutral color in the Farmer’s Market DSP) and on top of the Very Vanilla I used a piece of Chocolate Chip, then layered the pieces of Farmer’s market.  I also used a small piece of Daffodil Delight for the banner and a piece of Crumb Cake for the circle.

I stamped my image of the “Thanks A Bunch” with the grape bunch in Staz On because I knew I wanted to water color it.  Then  I used Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and a smidge of Chocolate Chip to color in the image.  I used my Aquapainter to do this, but you could use a regular paint brush dipped in water.   I fussy cut the image out, but you could just use a circle punch or just cut somewhat close to the image.

This card is going to a friend who recent encouraged me through a tough time.  I love this stamp set, it has all these punny sayings on fruit and vegetables.

So Punny!
Market Fresh

Well thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will get the stamp set and make some punny cards for your friends.  I’ll see you  soon!

The other day I shared a card that I had CASEd using the Perfect Pennants stamp set.  Perhaps CASing (Copy And Share Everything) was not explained very well, it’s when you see a card, scrapbook layout or anything you like and copy the way it is put together.  You can use the same stamp set and colors or not.  I didn’t use the same stamp set or colors.  Today’s card is the same layout from the other day.  Here’s another look at that card so you can compare them.

You can see the whole post here.  Today’s card is going to be given to someone very special, but this person may see it so I won’t share who it is now.

Look at the two cards, did you see the Pennants across it and the strip across the top?  I love how the first card is so feminine and the other one is really rather masculine.  Good thing it’s going to a guy!  ;0

Here’s a closer view of the anchor image from the Guy Greetings.  This is a GREAT stamp set for masculine cards.  There is such a variety of images from hats to shoes and an anchor and a great “body builder” guy.  That is actually my favorite image, even though at first I thought it was a little kooky, but then I realized that it’s not, it’s fun!  The papers used on this card are from the Farmer’s Market DSP and the small piece of black with the hearts on it is left over from the Hello Life Project Kit.  I’ve told you that I save all of the extra pieces from my kits.  I think the hearts are just perfect for this card because this is going to someone I care deeply about.  The other colors are Basic Black and Hello Honey.

I used a retired (sorry) embossing folder of the large polka dots.  There is a Very Vanilla card base under all of that.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and will join me again on Monday.  I don’t post on Sundays, it’s family day.

All of the supplies you need to make this card are in my online store and you can find them here.  I’ve listed all of the items used at the bottom of the post.

Now go and create something sweet for somebody!

A Festive Fireplace

Today I have a Christmas Card for you.  I know, it’s not even Halloween yet!  But if you are going to make your cards, you need to get started soon, right?  Every year my husband and I send out about 60 to 75 Christmas cards to just our closest friends.  My hubby usually helps me make them by cutting or running the Big Shot for me and then I do all the stamping.  This year, we will have a little head start with the Christmas cards I’ve made and will be making over the next few weeks and sharing with you.  Hope you like them!

Today’s card is a combination of Festive Fireplace and White Christmas.  I cut out the fireplace after stamping it on Smoking Slate in Chocolate Chip.  After stamping and cutting it I used my Aquapainter and dabbed on a little bit of Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip and Delightful Dijon.  Then I trimmed out the banner “Merry Christmas” from White Christmas and strung it from the mantle.  I placed the green garland from Festive Fireplace after using the framelits to cut it out.

The “wallpaper” is a sheet from Farmer’s Market, it’s not even a Christmas paper.  🙂 But whose house has Christmas wallpaper, right?  Then I strung a little bit of the Real Red Pom Pom trim across the top.

Sorry the picture is so dark, you’d think it would be brighter, seeing it’s a FIRE in a fireplace!  LOL But I did stamp it twice, once in chocolate chip on chocolate chip and once in chocolate chip on Cajun Craze.  Then I trimmed the fire away from the logs and then glued them onto the chocolate chip one.  I know that’s a lot of trimming by hand, but I just love the look.  You could just stamp on Cajun Craze and color the log portion in with Chocolate Chip.

Here’s another look at the entire card.  If you’d like to create your own, I’ve listed all the supplies needed at the bottom of the post and you can purchase them here.

Acorny Thank You

So, I’m Nuts About You!  Here is another card from Acorny Thank You stamp set, I hope it inspires you!

Acorny Thank You
Acorny Thank You

This is a simple little card that opens to the side.  I used the Acorny Thank You stamp set and the coordinating Acorn Builder Punch.  This punch is a duel punch, you can either use the full acorn, or just the top.  That makes it so we can have a brown bottom part of the acorn and a green top.   🙂

I must admit I messed up the middle stamp.  Oops!  I didn’t realize it until I took the picture.  But I want you to realize that we can mess up and the card is still great looking and the recipient will love it.

The background paper is from the Farmer’s Market Designer Series Paper pack.  I just love this paper.  I think I’m going to need to purchase more soon!  There is a strip of Tip Top Taupe and Mossy Meadow.  I used some retired yellow ribbon to finish it.  I’m not sure I like where the bow is, what do you think?

Hopefully this card has inspired you to create something sweet for somebody!

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peak….

100_3992
Thanksgiving Holiday Placecard using Acorny Thank You and the Acorn Builder Punch

Here is, as promised, a Holiday Catalog Sneak peak.  This is a Thanksgiving placecard.  I used the Acorny Thank You Stamp Set on page 45 of the new catalog.  I also used it’s coordinating Acorn Builder Punch.  This stamp set is one of our photopolymer sets and the acorns are in two pieces, several tops and bottoms, that you can mix and match plus some Thanksgiving or Thankful  sentiments.  The fact that the stamps are photopolymer makes it very easy to match the top to the bottom if you want to just stamp and not punch out the acorns.  In the catalog Stampin’ Up! has pictured a Square Pillow Box (another new item in the catalog – one I’m very, very excited about) decorated with Acorns.  That would be very cute on your Thanksgiving Table paired with this placecard holder for a little gift for your guests.

The green plaid piece is from the Farmer’s Market DSP.  I just love this DSP.  There are so many different patterns in the package that can be used for so many different occasions.  I used two pieces of Watermelon Wonder (a 2015-17 In-Color) on the placecard and stamped the “Grateful for You”  sentiment in this color too.  The Wild Wasabi leaves are cut from a retired leaf die.   The Acorn tops were stamped with Always Artichoke and Tangerine Tango.  I just love these colors together.  I’m in Florida and at Thanksgiving we are usually wearing shorts and outside hanging by the grill as we smoke our turkey so these lighter fall colors are just perfect.  A couple of pearls finish off the placecard.

Remember, we are only a little over two weeks away from you being able to order from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. You can purchase this stamp set and the  Acorn Builder Punch for a 15% discount (item # 140841 $28.00) and lots of other Holiday goodies like Black Glimmer paper for Halloween, Red Foil Paper for Christmas, dies for Christmas Ornaments, oh such fun!

I’m going to make several more of these for my Thanksgiving table this year.  I’ll add my guest names to the a banner and attach it with a glue dot.   If you like what you see why don’t you go to my on-line store and pick up a few new stamps or inks for you to make something.  If you have any questions about what I’ve made or something you are making, drop me a line and I’ll be glad to help.  Now go and create something sweet for somebody!

Birthday Owl

Whooo would you want to wish you a Happy Birthday other than the Birthday Owl?!  He’s so happy to peek out of his barn to see you with his party hat on.

Birthday Owl

I used the a selection from Farmer’s Market Designer Series Paper pack on an Island Indigo card with just a touch of Chocolate Chip in the scalloped piece, a small strip of another design from Farmer’s Market and a piece of Old Olive 1/4″ taffeta ribbon.  The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday.  This is a must have in your stamp library and is found in the Annual Catalog on page 8.  It has many birthday sentiments for both the inside and outside of your cards.

Here is a closer look at the elusive Birthday Owl.  You know he only comes out for special birthdays, like your 21st or 30th.  He does other things in-between but he won’t put on a birthday party hat unless it’s a special one.  😉  His hat is topped with a little candy dot and he’s dressed in a little piece of Farmer’s Market paper.  I hope you enjoy him.   Here’s another peek at the card….

Tomorrow, I promise I will have a sneak peak from the new Holiday Catalog.  You’ll be able to order from that very soon, September 1, so if you’d like to get a copy of it, please contact me and I’ll get it out to you.  It will be available on September 1 online too at my store.   This catalog is full of Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween themed stamps, papers, dies, punches and other accessories.  On my first look through it I wanted something on every page and still do!

Now I know you have stampin’ goodies in your stash, so go create something sweet for somebody today.
