Fear Not!

Botanical Blooms and Rose Wonder
Botanical Blooms and Rose Wonder

Hi again!  Today I have for you a card that was inspired by several different ones and I can’t tell you exactly which ones.  LOL  I used a combination of Botanical Blooms stamp set and framelet set and Rose Wonder stamp set.  Here in Isaiah 41:10 God is telling us that he will be with us and help us in our times of trouble, but He starts out “Fear Not” as if He were an angel.  Ever noticed that the first line out of all the angels in the Bible is usually “Fear Not”?  But when God is with us, what do we have to fear?  This quote from Isaiah is one of my absolute favorite stamps in the Occasions Catalog.

I used a sheet from Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper for the background and a small layer of Island Indigo. The Botanical Builders Framelets are great to use by themselves or with the stamp set.  I used them both ways on this card.  Every die cut received just a touch, if not more, of ink to give each of the flowers and leaves depth.  Here’s another shot of the card.

I hope you enjoyed the card today and visit my Stampin’ Up! online store to purchase any of the supplied used (listed below), or whatever else you’d like to have!  Thanks again!

Happy Birthday (Again!)

Celebrate Today!
Celebrate Today!

I created this card for a very special young lady, I hope she likes it!  I used a retired set (Banner Blast) for the small banners.  I added a heart to each banner just because.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Celebrate Today stamp set.  This is a great stamp set and it’s just full of balloons, hot air balloons and everything to decorate them, banners, dots and kite tails.  A great set for birthdays for all ages.   The sentiments in it are for weddings, babies, graduations and birthdays so it’s very versatile.

I’ve included a picture of the stamp set so you can see all the goodies in this set.

Here’s a close up of one of the banners and the background paper which is from the retired Sweet Taffy DSP.   I apologize for showing you retired products, but in the past I’ve had the horrible problem of hoarding my paper.  I’ve realized the error of my ways and vow to use all of my current paper while it’s current.  I think continuing to create things for this blog will help me accomplish that goal.

I’d love to say that if you wanted to copy this card exactly all the supplies can be purchased on my online store, but obviously that is sadly not true.  But you could create a card with the same layout that would look a lot like this one and those supplies you could purchase on my online store HERE.

Hopefully I’ve inspired you to create something sweet for somebody today!

And here is my interpretation…

I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the Papillon Potpourri set.  The card base is Wild Wasabi and the background is Rose Red and the half circle is Pink Pirouette.  I stamped the flower bunch from Butterfly Basics on Pink Pirouette in Chocolate Chip and then used my Aqua Painter and Rose Red ink and Garden Green to fill in the images.  The butterflies were stamped on Pink Pirouette with Rose Red, Watermelon Wonder and Blackberry Bliss.

The Thankful banner is from Acorny Thank You set.  I stamped it on Wild Wasabi with Mossy Meadow.  The other two stamps are from the Butterfly Basics set also and I stamped them in Chocolate Chip.

Halloween BOO!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I spent a relaxing Saturday in my craft room while hubby played golf with our son.  Luckily the weather held out for him.   I got to play with some of the goodies from my Holiday Catalog pre-order and now I’m sharing the results with you!  That’s one advantage to being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, getting a discount on supplies that you can purchase early before anyone else.  🙂

Hearth & Home Framelits
Hearth & Home Framelits

I made my first Halloween card.  No, not just for this year, but first ever!  I absolutely adore the new Hearth & Home Framelits and thought the stamps in Happy Scenes would pair well with it.  The card came out just as I envisioned it. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I also used the Lucky Stars embossing folder (found in the Annual Catalog)  to create a night time background.  I die cut the cat from Festive Fireside Framelits, also a Holiday Catalog item.  I will be using these stamps and dies a lot!  They were my absolute favorite from the catalog and I couldn’t  wait to use them.

100_3999I hope you like my offering today.  I used our new Black Archival Ink to stamp the spider web and tree on Very Vanilla.  Make sure you let this dry well before you try to sponge over it, like I did with Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi.

On September 1 you will be able to order these for yourself from my website or contact me to request your copy of the paper catalog.

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peak….

Thanksgiving Holiday Placecard using Acorny Thank You and the Acorn Builder Punch

Here is, as promised, a Holiday Catalog Sneak peak.  This is a Thanksgiving placecard.  I used the Acorny Thank You Stamp Set on page 45 of the new catalog.  I also used it’s coordinating Acorn Builder Punch.  This stamp set is one of our photopolymer sets and the acorns are in two pieces, several tops and bottoms, that you can mix and match plus some Thanksgiving or Thankful  sentiments.  The fact that the stamps are photopolymer makes it very easy to match the top to the bottom if you want to just stamp and not punch out the acorns.  In the catalog Stampin’ Up! has pictured a Square Pillow Box (another new item in the catalog – one I’m very, very excited about) decorated with Acorns.  That would be very cute on your Thanksgiving Table paired with this placecard holder for a little gift for your guests.

Acorny Thank You

The green plaid piece is from the Farmer’s Market DSP.  I just love this DSP.  There are so many different patterns in the package that can be used for so many different occasions.  I used two pieces of Watermelon Wonder (a 2015-17 In-Color) on the placecard and stamped the “Grateful for You”  sentiment in this color too.  The Wild Wasabi leaves are cut from a retired leaf die.   The Acorn tops were stamped with Always Artichoke and Tangerine Tango.  I just love these colors together.  I’m in Florida and at Thanksgiving we are usually wearing shorts and outside hanging by the grill as we smoke our turkey so these lighter fall colors are just perfect.  A couple of pearls finish off the placecard.

Remember, we are only a little over two weeks away from you being able to order from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. You can purchase this stamp set and the  Acorn Builder Punch for a 15% discount (item # 140841 $28.00) and lots of other Holiday goodies like Black Glimmer paper for Halloween, Red Foil Paper for Christmas, dies for Christmas Ornaments, oh such fun!

I’m going to make several more of these for my Thanksgiving table this year.  I’ll add my guest names to the a banner and attach it with a glue dot.   If you like what you see why don’t you go to my on-line store and pick up a few new stamps or inks for you to make something.  If you have any questions about what I’ve made or something you are making, drop me a line and I’ll be glad to help.  Now go and create something sweet for somebody!

Gift Bag Punch Board

Hey everybody!  Today I made a cute gift bag using Stampin’ Up!  Gift Bag Punch Board.   Gift Bags can be made in three sizes (the dimension of the bottom of the bag) and as tall as your choice of paper.  My bag is the medium size.    I have to admit that I must be a slow learner because I went through a couple of pieces of paper before I got it right, lol.   Here’s the final product:

My Gift Bag
My Gift Bag

I don’t want you to have to go through your paper so I’ve included the SU! Instructional video for the punch board below.  I suggest that you watch the video with your punch board and scrap paper in front of you the first time using it.

The paper I used for my bag is a selection from “Painted Blooms” from Stampin’ Up! but it’s retired  😦  We do have a similar one out now in the Annual Catalog named “English Garden” that would give the same feel.  Of course, my samples are really just jumping off points for you.   The paper you choose should fit the occasion that you are making the bag for so it could be any color, print or design!  I see Christmas bags in my future.  😉

After making the bag I ran some Wild Wasabi  seam binding ribbon through the holes and tied it in a pretty knot that I left on the front of the bag. Then I used my Oval Framelets to cut a piece of Pink Pirouette. Then I stamped the larger flower from the Crazy About You Stamp Set twice with Blackberry Bliss without reinking so I got two shades of the flower.   I have a hint for you when using photopolymer stamps, especially the larger images. Place a foam pad, like our Stampin’ Pierce Mat, under the paper you are stamping on.  Somehow it allows the ink to fully spread over the image onto your paper.  I don’t really understand the science behind it but I know it works!

blog 8.11 pic 2I also stamped the leaf image from the same set. I hand cut these out and then attached them to the oval. Then the Oval to the bag. After I cut a butterfly from the Butterfly Frramelets in Rich Razzleberry and attached that too. A few rhinestones and you’re done! What a great bag to use for a gift for someone special.  They will be thrilled that you took the time to create something special just for them.

Butterfly Basic Birthday!

This week my niece celebrated her 30th birthday and I had the pleasure of making this card for her, I hope you like it.

Butterfly Basics Birthday
Butterfly Basics Birthday

I layered the images from Butterfly Basics and Kinda Eclectic in the background with Pink Pirouette and Rose Red for the honeycomb image and Wild Wasabi for the leaf image from Kinda Eclectic.  Then I added the border image from Butterfly Basics in Always Artichoke.  I stamped the flower image in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla.  Then I colored it with my Aqua Painter, the small one, with a combination of Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Always Artichoke and Wild Wasbi.  I love coloring with any media, an Aqua Painter or Blender Pen with ink,  our Stampin’ Write Markers, or even crayons!  When you use an Aqua Painters be careful not to let too much water pool on your images.  If there is too much blot it with a paper towel to dry it some or the image becomes too blurry.  So after the image dried I used my Paper Snips and trimmed it out.  That was not the easiest task I have ever done, but well worth it.  The flower image is so delicate when cut out.  Do you agree?

100_3958

After attaching it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I put some Dazzling Details on it to bring texture and sparkle.  The card itself is made with Crumb Cake cardstock layered with Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette.  I finished off the card with a band of Wild Wasabi seam binding ribbon, a small bow I made with the same seam binding and who can resist a few rhinestones?   I love the seam binding ribbon, in all it’s colors, it lays nicely and ties into bows that come out so well without a lot of futzing.   Here is a last look at this special birthday card for a special woman.

100_3957

If you like this card and would like to make your own, or something else using these stamps please go to my website and purchase the supplies you will need.  To make this particular card, I’ve detailed all of the supplies needed at the bottom of this post.  Of course you can use other brands of scissors, rhinestones and even Dazzling Details but the images are from Stampin’ Up! and the stamp set is so versatile that it is well worth to have it in your stamp library.   Now have a great day and go create something gorgeous!
